Raleigh entrepreneurs launch Appli app and “take flight” with over $100,000 in crowdfunding investments through WeFunder campaign

As we all know, one of North Carolina’s state license plates reads “First in Flight,” which commemorates the Wright Brothers’ first powered flight at Kitty Hawk in 1903.

While the Wright Brothers made the state and nation proud well over a century ago, Dante’ Hilton and Jason Sanders are “First in Flight” in their own right with their new, one-of-a-kind-app that’s now helping students on the high school achievement tracking fronts.

From aviation to apps, Hilton and Sanders now have the support they need to ensure their new innovation has wings to fly for a long, long time.

You see, the business duo from Raleigh have just launched Appli, a groundbreaking new app designed to streamline the documentation and showcasing of high school achievements.

Even better, their new app has secured just over $100,000 (USD) in crowdfunding investments on WeFunder – an innovative and popular online platform that allows individual investors to crowdfund startup companies.

Appli was co-created by students and technology experts and will revolutionize how high school students present their academic and extracurricular accomplishments.

Appli is more than just an app; it’s the ultimate companion for capturing and showcasing high school journeys. Whether it’s recording grades, test scores, sports achievements, club participation, or awards, Appli helps high school students document and highlight their most impressive milestones.

The unique tool not only helps organize accomplishments but also connects students with the right colleges, universities, and potential employers, providing a clear advantage in the college or job application process.

Hilton and Sanders met while attending Shaw University, the American south’s oldest HBCU (Historically Black College and University), and the two are set to make history with Appli and put North Carolina on the map as the new latest and greatest tech hub in the United States.

“We are elated and humbled with the crowdfunding support on WeFunder and the big raise will help take our app to the next level,” says Co-Founder Hilton. “Appli will help empower high school students and shape their futures in so many positive ways.”

Sanders echoes his views during an interview involving their “Made-In-Raleigh-Innovation.”

“Words cannot describe how thrilled we are with the crowdfunding support on WeFunder,” says Co-Founder Sanders. “The support is like more fuel in our airplane and will help keep us at 36,000 feet… and climb even higher.”

The vision of Appli is simple: they believe every student deserves the opportunity to pursue their dreams, regardless of their background or circumstances. Today, countless students struggle to navigate the complex path from high school to higher education and career success. They face challenges such as limited access to resources, lack of guidance, and overwhelming decision-making processes. This can leave them feeling lost and unprepared for the future.

Appli is a solution to a larger problem and will soon be used by millions of students and institutions across the USA.

The team will also soon be announcing their powerhouse partnership with the Fair Opportunity Project – a non-profit organization for US high-school students.

“The high school student to counselor ratio in the US is now greater than 500 to 1 in most states,” says Hilton. “Most high school students aren’t getting any help at all with post-high school plans.”

Designed with input from high school students and guided by technology experts, Appli offers an intuitive and effective way to manage educational achievements. With features like easy reapplication options and the ability to share your Appli profile with colleges, universities, trade schools, and even potential employers, this app makes post-high school planning more streamlined and user-friendly.

High school student anxiety about their future is at an all-time high. According to Pew Research, 95% of teens see anxiety and depression as a top concern among peers.

Co-Founder Danny Zavala, who heads up the marketing, partnership planning and promotions for the app in San Diego, CA, says the future looks bright for both Appli and high school students from coast-to-coast.

“High school students now have access to the best technology that will help boost their confidence and help guide them on their journeys,” says Co-Founder Zavala. “Appli ensures that any student, irrespective of socio-economic background, can document, organize, and present accomplishments with ease, all while preparing for the next big step in educational or career path.”
