Lorraine Simpson is helping shape the future of the travel industry in Canada and beyond!

Connecting the travel industry and exploring the transformation of travel in a time of major disruption is the theme of ACTA’s (Association of Canadian Travel Agencies) virtual summit being held on November 12th and 13.th

This is why the trade association, dedicated to the success of Travel Agencies, Travel Agents and all of our partners, is hosting top keynote speakers, hailed as the “Masters of Innovation” during times of uncertainty, one being Lorraine Simpson, who is the CityLine TV Travel Expert and host of her own TV show: What’s on Your Post-Pandemic Bucket List?

Simpson’s talk will be one of deep interest for scores of travel businesses taking part in next month’s summit as she will reveal the importance of rebranding, reinvention, and innovation while we continue to combat the worst pandemic the world has experienced in over 100 years.

“The travel industry has been hit hard, but the goal now is for all of us to stick together and find new ways to reinvent our businesses and at the same time help restore confidence in consumers to start booking trips again,” explains Simpson. “The talk I will give focusses on the ups and downs during my career – it hasn’t always been rosy – and how I managed to succeed despite the odds. We are all in the same boat right now and I will provide everyone with the key ingredients they need to reinvent and rebrand their businesses. The more we work to innovate means we will survive these challenging times and it will help get people travelling – and this will reboot our industry quickly.”

She adds, “This year’s Canadian virtual travel industry summit being hosted by ACTA is expected to draw in a big crowd as travel professionals need guidance during a pandemic and I am here to help everyone rebuild and grow. ACTA has worked tirelessly for the travel industry during this pandemic in lobbying the government for help and has been the key to many of the special assistance programs we have received to date.”

Meet Lorraine Simpson

Lorraine Simpson knows travel, inside and out. Who better to share insights and perspective on the reinvention of the industry that has been battered globally by COVID-19 than someone who has reinvented their own travel persona? Simpson has the experience, know-how, and insight that will help guide a realignment of the $1.5 trillion-dollar industry.

In a small unfinished basement, she set up her first travel company focused on destination weddings in 2005. Fast forward to 2010 and with no financial backing, Simpson transformed her company into a $4 million success story. As part of her own reinvention, Simpson then shifted into the luxury group speciality travel market, and her story comes full circle this year with a move from travel agent to travel personality and leading travel expert in national and international media. With this enhanced public profile, Simpson is helping travel brands reinvent themselves amid global uncertainty in the industry.

Simpson is a two-time Magellan Award winning travel entrepreneur and now the CityLine TV Travel Expert. She has recently launched her own TV show, What’s On Your Post-Pandemic Bucket List?. She is a popular keynote speaker at travel events and conferences across North America and round the world.
